He holds degrees from Dartmouth College, the University of Cambridge (Trinity College), and the University of Chicago, where Saul Bellow was his doctoral dissertation adviser in the Committee on Social Thought.<\/p>\n<p>In addition to <em>The New Atlantis<\/em>, his articles and essays have appeared in <em>Commentary<\/em>, the <em>Weekly Standard<\/em>, <em>National Review<\/em>, <em>First Things<\/em>, the <em>American Spectator<\/em>, the<em> New Criterion<\/em>, and the <em>Claremont Review of Books<\/em>.
